The Experience
Explore Hidden Places. Leave Them Better Than You Found Them. This is more than just a hike. It's a chance to spend a day in nature while making a real difference. Each experience takes place in a different location within around 1.5 hours of Sydney CBD. Together we'll explore forests, coastlines, beaches and hidden corners of nature while collecting rubbish and microplastics along the way. It's a simple way to give back to the places that give us so much. The walks are generally moderate to hard, with some steep and uneven sections, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. We'll move at a comfortable pace, take breaks, enjoy the scenery and, if conditions allow, finish with a swim at a beach, lagoon or waterhole. I encourage solo travellers to join, as it creates a welcoming atmosphere where everyone gets to know one another and share the experience. Please bring water, food or snacks, sunscreen, a hat, closed walking shoes, swimmers, a towel and your sense of adventure.

How it Works

Every gathering is held at a different location, with the meeting point shared before each event. All locations are within approximately 1.5 hours of Sydney CBD.
Self drive – $5
A small contribution simply to confirm your commitment to attend. Your $5 goes towards fresh fruit for everyone to enjoy together.

Don't have a car or would rather travel with the group? The $35 contribution covers your transport, petrol, National Park parking fees, fresh fruit and snacks.
We'll start with a short introduction to the day's clean-up before setting off together. Along the way we'll collect litter and microplastics while enjoying everything the landscape has to offer. Every walk is a little different, but the goal is always the same: leave the place a little better than we found it.
